In December, we launched the Managing Displacement series at Framer Framed, Amsterdam. We were joined by contributors Hassan Ould Moctar and Stefanos Levidis for a discussion about the themes of the first two books – outsourcing and extraction. A recording of the event will be available soon.
Hassan Ould Moctar, in his essay Survival and Dispersal in Nouakchott, examines the role of outsourcing through EU border externalisation in Mauritania. Stefanos Levidis' text Border Natures reveals the extractive relationship to nature embedded within migration management which uses the environment against people on the move.
You can read these two essays in Outsourcing and Extraction – details about where to buy the books here.
